50th Anniversary Festival
After reviewing the Covid 19 guidelines set forth by the Governor and taking everyone's safety into consideration, I have decided it would be best for all to postpone the 50th Annual Dr. Ralph Stanley Hills of Home Festival until Memorial Weekend of 2022 (May 25-May 28, 2022).
The 50th is a special milestone for the festival. We have an incredible lineup with lots of special events planned and we anticipate our largest crowd ever. Taking all of that into consideration, we want to keep the festival on Memorial Day weekend just like Dr. Ralph started it in 1970 and have no restrictions in place. In order to do so, we feel moving it to May 2022 will give all the best opportunity and allow everyone to thoroughly enjoy this special event.
Please share with your bluegrass buddies to help get the word out! We want the 50th Anniversary to be one of the best events ever and hope you will be a part of it!!! - Ralph II
This festival is an old time bluegrass music tradition started by Dr. Ralph Stanley and continuing today in his honor. Dr. Ralph's wish was that Ralph II would take over managing the festival, which he did in 2012. Ralph II earned his dad's confidence and trust, and he takes great pride in continuing to honor his dad by making the festival a true tribute to the legendary Dr. Ralph Stanley and continuing to bring talented bluegrass musicians to the stage for the fans.
The sound of banjos, mandolins and voices ringing high on top of some of the most beautiful mountains you will ever see!
